The previous night in Madeira was just supposed to be a warm up for the big show, the third round in the USA Crits series. The guys were really confident as Isaac had nailed the victory the night before in Madeira.
Team Aerocat animated the race but per plan most of the race was spent defending Isaac and keeping it together. Several breaks went away but none were going to stay away with the team so focused on their mission. With three laps to go, the final break was caught under the pressure of Guttenplan and Hekman. This was going to be a bunch gallop to the finish.
Out of the last turn and about 100 feet from the finish, Isaac and Emile Abraham locked horns and went down. Isaac was on track to win and the next thing he is looking at the race winner Dotti throw his arms up.
But Isaac did not hesitate and in a move that showed tremendous maturity and forward thinking he quickly picked himself and his bike up and ran across the finish line for 27th place in an effort to preserve his overall lead in the USA Crits Series.
